Optimization Is The Road To Victory

Search Engine Optimization (or SEO) will only do so much. If you really want your website to do well, there are so many other important elements that need to be developed first. For instance, the amount of page content your site has, the uniqueness of that content, the frequency with which that content is updated, your site’s general appeal or ‘likeability’, and your site’s ‘message’ are just a few of the things that must be taken into consideration when planning your push to the top. In this way, optimization is a lot like waxing a vintage corvette: It only adds a finishing shine to the craftsmanship and expertise that lie underneath.
Don’t get me wrong, though. There is a value in having your web pages optimized. After all, as any used car dealer would hate to tell you, a good coat of wax can go a long way when trying to make a sale. But in this case, what optimization really does is help focus all that great content and appeal of your site (or individual pages) within a particular niche. The narrower your focus, the tighter the niche; the easier it will be for your website to compete. And when all the other variables are in place, not only may you compete, you might actually win. And when you ‘win’, you open the doors to doing well in broader niches, which, when handled properly, begins to open door after door after door. But do not doubt, optimization all by itself is only a small piece of the puzzle. The quality of your content is the rest.
